BOSTON - Acetylon Pharmaceuticals Inc. has leased 9,700 square feet of headquarters and lab space at Seaport Center Boston, becoming the first R&D tenant at the Innovation District mid-rise.

Jones Lang LaSalle managing directors Bill Barrack and Ben Heller and associate Ben Hux represented the landlords, Beal Cos. LLP and Rockpoint Group LLC. Keith Coulter of McPherson Corp. represented Acetylon, which will move to 70 Fargo St. from 609 Albany St.

Boston-based Marguiles Perruzzi Architects has designed the firm's new office and lab space on the second floor, where construction is underway. Wise Construction Corp. is the construction manager and RDK Engineers is the mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineer.

Acetylon's space is slated for completion this summer. The lease pushes occupancy to 80 percent in the 456,000-square-foot project. Acetylon is focusing on the discovery and development of drug candidates based on next-generation Class II-selective HDAC inhibitors.

The class A Seaport Center is a nine-story office building situated across the street from the Westin Hotel and Boston Convention Center. It is one block from the waterfront and boasts direct access to the Ted William Tunnel.

As part of a recent renovation, the landlords added International Health Racquet & Sportsclub. Tenants include Monster.com, Verizon, Altran Solutions, JPMorgan Chase & Co. Inc. and Digital Realty Trust.
