Architectural and interior design firm Margulies Perruzzi Architects has promoted Christine Law Pestana, LEED AP and Derek D'Amico, AIA, LEED AP to the position of Senior Associate, and Nathan K. Turner, LEED AP and Alvaro J. Ribeiro, AIA to the position of Associate within the firm.
Christine Law Pestana, LEED AP ~ Promoted to Senior Associate
Christine has over 17 years of experience and has worked on a variety of projects in the corporate, financial and healthcare industries. As an architectural designer and project manager, Christine is responsible for design team coordination, contract documents, and project detail information including design, space planning and construction administration. Since joining MPA in 1996, she has served as the project manager/designer for such clients as Forrester Research, Fallon Clinic, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, Fiduciary Trust, and MPA's own office in the Children's Museum building in Boston's Fort Point Channel neighborhood. Christine received a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Bachelor of Architecture from the Rhode Island School of Design.
Derek D'Amico, AIA, LEED AP ~ Promoted to Senior Associate
As a project manager at MPA, Derek is responsible for daily interaction with clients and daily supervision of project design progress. Derek has more than 15 years of experience, and has provided design services for all phases of a project from schematic design to construction administration. He recently helped manage the interior architectural design for a new 350,000 square foot office tower for a global financial services company in Boston. Derek's other project experience includes work for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, BankBoston (now Bank of America), ManuLife, Bell Atlantic (now Verizon Communications), and Candlewood Suites Hotels. Derek received his Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Wentworth Institute of Technology and is also a member of the Boston Society of Architects.
Nathan K. Turner, LEED AP ~ Promoted to Associate
Nate has over 13 years of experience as an architectural designer at MPA. As a project manager, Nate brings strengths in design, production, project coordination, and management. He has worked on a range of project types, including laboratory, corporate headquarters, healthcare, and financial services. His project experience includes work for Goodrich ISR, Covidien, and Fallon Clinic. Nate recently served as co-chair of a volunteer advisory sub-committee to the Quincy Planning Board, tasked with developing a set of green design guidelines that would be utilized in the Planning Board's review process moving forward. He is a member of the Boston Society of Architects. Nate received a Bachelor of Architecture and Bachelor of Design Studies from the Boston Architectural Center.
Alvaro J. Ribeiro, AIA ~ Promoted to Associate
Since joining MPA in 2002, Alvaro has worked on a variety of projects, contributing his strengths in design, BIM and 3-D modeling, and extensive experience in construction administration. He brings an attention to detail, a deliberate approach, and creative thinking to all his projects. Alvaro's projects at MPA include the recently completed corporate headquarters for Forrester Research and work for OneBeacon Insurance. Alvaro has over 10 years of residential and commercial experience. He has also received an honorable mention in a design competition for Habitat for Humanity. Alvaro received a Bachelor of Architecture from Wentworth Institute of Technology.
